NYC fashion week pushes forward, i’m following designers from A to Z. Looking once, twice and thrice, and all visible signs point towards an exploration of the sensory kind for AW10. At Thakoon, whispering layers of chiffon played along with rough, tough leather and shearling to create a beautiful compromise between gothic and girl; black, white and all that lies inbetween. Whilst Marc by Marc Jacobs pulled out all the classic utilitarian favourites; Army green, deep sea navy blue, cloudy white lace, stripes, denim. An intellectual play with youth tribes and bygone eras without the usual retro perspective. The result: A collection of clean, playful function.
